“Youth should play sports, it enhances talent and personality”

Utkal University conducted Basketball Inter College Tournament (Men)

Bhubaneswar: The Utkal University basket ball inter college tournament (men) final zone 2022-23 has been inaugurated on 5th November 2022 by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sabita Acharya, at the Basket Ball Court at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex. Eight college teams participated in the intercollegiate tournament while ten colleges participated in the trials.
The student athletes should play with positive attitude and encouraged them to pursue the game for long to make carrier in sports and games, Prof. Acharya advised in the inaugural ceremony. Whereas; Dr. Avaya Kumar Nayak, Registrar graced as the Chief Guest and inspired the players to maintain good health, hygiene to keep them always fit for all weather sports. He emphasized that youth should play sports, it enhances your talent as well as your personalities to greater extent in the valedictory session. He gave away the trophies to the winners and certificates. BJB College, autonomous College emerged as the champion while U.N. Autonomous College got the runners up trophy.
Dr. Kirti Ranjan Mallick, Vice President, P.G. Athletic Club organised the event on behalf of Director of Sports, Utkal University. Dr Benudhar Das, Coordinated the tournament with match officials, D. P. Sahoo, Prahlad Panda, and Chiranjib Karan, D.B. Routray and C.Jena. Dr. Prabir Mohanty and Sashikant Nayak were present as the selectors.
